On Friday, September 26 Youth on Record joins ColoRadio at the Denver Press Club to discuss their prolific youth media programs and much more! Youth on Record designs and implements strengths-based, music-centered programs intended to equip young people with the skills needed to find success in life by advancing their academic success, increasing their economic opportunities and career skills, and strengthening their community connections and networks. We look forward to seeing you there!

Panelists include:

David Ladon (he/him) is a multi-instrumentalist, producer, educator, and arts administrator with nearly two decades of experience in music and arts education. As Senior Manager of Creative Youth Development at Youth on Record, he oversees the Media Arts Program, including the acclaimed Podcast Production Internship, summer camps, and public-facing series such as Youth on Rewind and Underground at the Showcase. An award-winning children’s musician and creator of the PBS series Farmer Dave and Friends, David has written, produced, and performed on more than a dozen albums (at least half of which are for grownups), and is committed to using music and media as tools for self-expression, healing, and community-building.

Lucy Richardson (she/her) is an Associate Producer for the Media Arts Department at Youth on Record, where she combines her passion for audio production, storytelling, and community engagement. A graduate of the University of Denver with degrees in Psychology and Journalism Studies, she has produced work for projects such as EARWORM: Denver’s Local Music, Alla Presenté, Rocky Mountain Reverb, and Pop Culture Vultures, as well as serving as Audio Content Manager for Inside Wire: Colorado Prison Radio. Beyond podcasting, Lucy also writes and edits for Colorado Media Group, and remains dedicated to the ways music and media foster connection and community.

Tongjai Lee (he/him), born and raised in Colorado, is a sound engineer, dedicated Beatlemaniac, and self-described “sound wiz.” As a member of Youth on Record’s Media Team, he supports recording, mixing, and mastering projects while pursuing his Recording Arts degree to deepen his expertise in audio production.

Miah Edwards (she/her) is a third-year Public Relations and Communications student at MSU Denver. She launched her first podcast in 2020 and has been immersed in audio production and podcasting ever since. Since completing the Podcast Production Internship, Miah has continued working with Youth on Record as on-mic and on-camera talent for YOR podcasts and community partnerships. Storytelling has long been a passion of hers, and she is grateful to continue developing her craft through this work.

WHAT IS COLORADIO: Colorado is rich with audio artists, podcast producers and radio professionals, not to mention countless talented journalists who might be curious about the world of sound. Our goal is to connect and inspire by offering a regular space to elevate interesting and impactful work. Each month, we invite speakers who are using audio to tell stories, serve communities, create art or all of the above. In partnership with the Denver Press Club, each event is a conversation between one of us and a guest on a specific topic or project. Afterwards, there’s time to snack, socialize, and build community. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay up to date on future events! https://coloradio.beehiiv.com
